Hey there, I’ve been thinking about how I’m not in as many coaching groups or masterminds as I used to be. Sometimes that makes me feel a little off the grid, you know? There’s one group I just wrapped up a year with, and it’s been incredible. It’s one of the few places where I’ve seen real momentum and significant changes in my business. But let me tell you, it wasn’t all rainbows and revenue. There were times I felt so resistant, so frustrated, so unsure if I was even cut out to be an agency owner. Thoughts like these kept creeping in:
Sometimes I’d catch myself thinking: “I guess I wasted all that revenue, time, and energy learning new things and reinvesting in my business. I guess I wasted everyone’s time…” I don’t truly believe that, by the way. It’s just my inner hater coming to pee in my Cheerios every now and then. Then, about 8 days after brushing off those feelings (turns out it was just my luteal phase talking), something interesting happened. Someone in the community Slack echoed similar sentiments. They felt like they had failed themselves, their business, and their coach by getting a full-time job. I had to chime in and share my perspective on doing what’s right for my finances, family, and frequency is never a waste of time... You know what happened next? Minutes later, the coach and founder of the program not only validated my advice but also admitted that she had applied for (and was hired as) a full-time consultant just a few months ago. And this was during her most profitable year! That got me thinking: how many of our mentors (and ourselves) are omitting this kind of information, not necessarily intentionally? If we were more open about these realities, how much less pressure would we feel to get it all right, right now? Here’s what I want you to remember: You’ve got to do what’s right for the reason or season you’re facing now. And only you know for sure what that is. If anything, I salute you. You’re doing the damn thing, no matter how many steps back or forward you’ve taken this year. You’re still here ;) You're homie in the highest, Christina Torres Chief Creative Officer Run & Tell That - Copy. Content. Culture. w: www.runandtellthat.co e: christina@runandtellthat.co
